LEARNING
OUTCOMES FOR THE MASTER OF SCIENCE IN FINANCE PROGRAM
By
the end of the programme, students should be able to:
1)
acquire in-depth knowledge of finance concepts and theories within
their areas of specialisation.
2)
conceptualize, organise and resolve complex problems within the
areas of study.
3)
conduct and synthesize research in the specialise disciplines.
4)
use appropriate computer technologies to analyse research data.
5)
demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the disciplines through
a report writing and presentation of the
research.
6)
formulate an integrated research between Islamic and conventional
finance theories in their respective field
of study.
7)
apply modern finance theory in a corporate decision-making process
using appropriate communication and critical
thinking skills.
8)
integrate change of information technology in their decision –making
processes.
9)
utilize leadership skills, resolve conflict and act independently.
10)
develop an awareness of the ethical and environmental ramifications
of their decisions.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENT
Applications
are to be made on the prescribed forms, which may be obtained
from the Admissions Unit, Admissions and Records Division (A&R).
The general requirements for admission into the program are as
follows:

relevant Bachelor degree with good grades from an accredited
institution of higher learning or any other certificate recognized
to be equivalent to a Bachelor's degree and with relevant
progessional experiences. |

Language requirements of at least 550 in TOEFL or 6.0 in IELTS |
DURATION
Students
may enroll on a full-time or part-time basis. Full-time students
must enroll for a minimum of 12 - 15 credit hours per semester.
Part-time students may register for 6 credit hours each semester.

is as follows :

PROGRAM
STRUCTURE The
Master of Science in Finance program comprised 14 courses or 42
credit hours of coursework. Students can enroll for the program
either as a full time pr part time status. The duration for completing
the program on a full time basis is 18 months or 3 semesters where
students need to take 4 to 5 or 12 to 15 credit hours of courses
each semester. Students can also opt for a research paper in lieu
of 6 credit hours or 2 courses.
